Microneedling and Nanoneedling
Microneedling and Nanoneedling
Microneedling is the minimally invasive process of using tiny sterile needles to create micro-injuries in the skin. These injuries are minuscule and skin deep, but they elicit a healing response from the skin. The skin responds by sending in its healing factors that boost the skin's strength, radiance, and overall appearance. Microneedling stimulates collagen and elastin production. Microneedling makes your skin glow after just one treatment but it will continue to enhance the appearance of your complexion for months after the treatment.
The benefits of Microneedling include: anti-aging, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, scar treatment, treatment of sun damage, shrinks pores, improves stretch marks, improves the effectiveness of topical products, rosacea improvement, acne improvement.
You may hear the term "Microneedling" thrown around by estheticians. However, during a true Microneedling treatment, the skin is being penetrated at a depth that only a licensed medical professional may legally perform in many states including Maryland. Numbing cream is often necessary to make this treatment more comfortable.
Nanoneedling is the little sister to Microneedling. Nanoneedling is less invasive than Microneedling but still provides amazing results. Depending on your skin concerns and goals, your provider may recommend Nanoneedling in lieu of Microneedling, or find it necessary to start you with Nanoneedling before progressing to Microneedling treatments.
